Gayle A. Taylor and Peter H. Parkin were united in marriage on October 23, 2004, at Saint Thomas’ Memorial Episcopal Church in Oakmont, PA.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Taylor of Pismo Beach, CA and formerly of Dhahran. She is a graduate of Dhahran Junior High School (1989), the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT and Brown University in Providence, RI, where she received an A.B. in International Relations. She received a J.D./M.B.A. from Boston College Law School and Carroll Graduate School of Management in Boston, MA. She is a corporate attorney at the law firm of Dunnington, Bartholow & Miller in New York, NY.
The groom is the son of Peter and Linda Parkin of Oakmont, PA. He is a graduate of Riverview High School in Oakmont and Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed as an internet web developer for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in New York, NY.
The matron-of-honor was the bride’s sister, Deborah Sonntag, of Orlando, FL. Bridesmaids were: Miranda Berner of Zelienople, PA; Lisa Parkin Hall of Millersville, MD; Beth LaVelle of Douglaston, NY; Sookyoung Shin of Washington, D.C.; and Shaunna Spalten of Brooklyn, NY. The bride’s nieces, Emily and Evelyn Sonntag, served as the junior bridesmaid and flower girl, respectively.
The best man was Jeffrey Wescott of San Francisco, CA. Groomsmen were: David deVitry of Marietta, PA; Von Hufnagle of Parma, OH; Michael Sciullo of Oakmont, PA; David Siska of Chicago, IL; and Jay Wells of Brooklyn, NY. The groom’s friend, Noah Jenkins of Portland, OR, was the ceremony violinist.
The bride wore a silk Anne Barge wedding gown and carried a bouquet of roses and hypercium berries. The bridesmaids wore wineberry-colored Watters & Watters dresses. The reception was held at Longue Vue Club in Verona, PA.
Ex-Aramcons in attendance were: Paul Allen, Robert and Janice Allen, Robert and Nancy Cona, Liliane Jamal, Phillip and Barbara Salstrom, Sookyoung Shin, A. William and Deborah Sonntag, and Karima Tahir.
The couple honeymooned in St. Kitts in the Caribbean. They now reside in Bloomfield, NJ.
