Glencoe, MD – June 4, 2005 – Emily Renae Belvo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey A. Belvo of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and Bradenton, FL, recently graduated from Oldfields School in Glencoe, MD. Belvo attended Oldfields for four years, where she participated in varsity level soccer, softball , and volleyball, earning Varsity Club status. A talented thespian, she acted in numerous student theatrical productions. She served as Green Team Spirit and Captain, as a Big Sister and as a Resident Assistant in her dormitory. In 2002 she was honored with the Katherine Culbertson ’65 Prize, given to the first year student making the greatest contribution to the School. At her graduation she was elected to May Court, won the Theatre Award, the Spanish Prize, and was presented with the Senior Trustee Prize, given to a senior for her steadfast and exemplary leadership, her impeccable citizenship, her consistent kindness, and her great strength of character. She earned High Honor Roll all four quarters her senior year and graduated with High Honors. Belvo plans to attend St. Leo's University in the fall.
Oldfields School, Maryland’s oldest girls’ boarding school, located 25 miles north of Baltimore, was founded in 1867. Oldfields is an independent, college-preparatory school for girls in grades 8-PG. Of the 190 students, 75 percent are boarding students and 25 percent are day students.
