Keshyap Joshi
Keshyap Joshi, an Aramco employee of 24 years will retire this August. He joined Aramco in February of 1978 as an operations engineer and was assigned to the Ras Tanura Refinery. About a year later he was transferred to the Terminal Department and he remained in that department until the end of 2002.
During his time at Aramco, Mr. Joshi worked as a division head in all of the divisions of the Terminal Operations Department, excluding piloting. He took a keen interest in the development of young engineers and that effort resulted in the near total Saudization of the Terminal Technical Services Division.
During his tenure as general supervisor of engineering, essentially all control rooms, communications systems, port control center, electrical systems, and buildings were upgraded. Mr. Joshi had the opportunity to work on the first ever joint venture of Saudi Aramco in China and participated in the design and construction of a new crude oil terminal suitable for very large crude carriers.
Mr. Joshi joined the Joint Ventures Development and Support Department in 2003 and worked on the Fujian Joint Venture in Hong Kong and Beijing, China.
Joshi's long career began in the US where he received an MS in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey. He then went on to become a registered professional engineer in the state of West Virginia. Prior to joining Aramco, he worked for about seven years in leading US oil companies.
In August of 1973, Keshyap married Abby. Together they shared common interests such as socializing with friends, reading, and traveling.
Retiring next month, Mr. Joshi plans to travel and spend time with his parents who live in India. He also plans to visit his daughter, Arti, who lives in the US. Arti studied in Ras Tanura from kindergarten until her graduation from Junior High.
After visiting with his family, Mr. Joshi plans to spend his summers in the mid-west US and his winters in India. Friends may contact him at joshikc@yahoo.com.
