John Barr, son of Annuitants Ann and Richard Barr, Dhahran 1978-2001,has graduated from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management in May 2005. John, who was in the Dhahran graduating class of 1992, earned a Graduate degree in Business Administration. While at Kellogg, John spent the summer interning at Goldman Sachs and after a difficult decision, ultimately decided to return to Los Angeles where he accepted a position at Empyrean, an event driven hedge fund. John enjoys the Southern California weather and being close to his sister, Elizabeth Barr, Dhahran graduating class of 1990.
Elizabeth recently completed her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University on-line, while working full time as a civilian environmental project manager for the US Navy in San Diego, California. While in school, Elizabeth was awarded a $13K scholarship from the Center for Disease Control to investigate terrorism and water quality.

Even more recently, Elizabeth became engaged to Jeffrey Harris. This September, Elizabeth and Jeff are leaving on a 5-month leave of absence from work, to travel. Their trip will begin in Puerto Vallarta for John Barr's 30th birthday celebration, followed by China, Tibet, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. Ann, Richard and John Barr will join them in Bangkok for Christmas. Elizabeth and Jeff will continue traveling in Laos and Cambodia before flying back to the US. Unless the couple elopes beforehand, they are planning to have a very small wedding in Mexico in 2008.
