Hi to All...
Vicci has done a nice job on the updated version of the ExPats Newsletter. Wonder if it will draw out any of those old hands from my era, 1947 to 1959.
I still can't get over there being a highway to Bahrain Island. I still remember those launch trips and the props digging up the sand bars at times; those friendly guys in the Coast Guard station at the Khobar pier and "old man" De La Mar to welcome us and tie up the launch.
The trips to the Khobar suqs was an experience in itself. You couldn't drive thru the streets as they were only built for donkey travel in those days.
Hope there might still be one or two out there who will recoginize the name of Alan McKeegan from both Dhahran and Ras Tanura and maybe even Ras El Mishaab???
