Henry Cook waits for his pitch at Dodger camp.
Aramco Annuitant Henry Cook is slowly losing his battle with cancer. Now, with the end in sight, his brother John, his daughter-in-law Cindy and son Peter, have established a website that honors his life and spirit.
Henry's wife, Bonnie, hopes that his friends from the Aramco community will use the site to reflect on the man they knew in Saudi. Though his children will appreciate gaining new insight into the life of their beloved father, Henry's grandchildren, who will have only vague memories of this magnificent man, stand to benefit the most from the stories and tributes.
Henry and Bonnie came to Saudi Arabia in 1973 after eight years spent in Libya. During his stint with Aramco, Cook and his family lived in Abqaiq, Ras Tanura and Dhahran. Henry was well known among the tennis and softball circles. He was quite fond of his softball team, the U-Drives.
Sports have always held a special place in Henry's heart. He is an avid Dodger's fan who is still waiting for them to return to Brooklyn. He went to Dodger camp for years, and he played with them for many weeks during repats in Florida.
A hardworking geologist, Henry Cook retired from Aramco as Manager, Drilling and Workover Operations on September 1994. He and Bonnie have three children, Peter, Allison and Anne, who are all now married, and each marriage spawned a pair of youngsters. This makes Henry a grandfather six times over.
The Cook family would love for all of Henry's old friends to visit his site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cookhd. Here, they will be able to view photos of their friend, follow his story in a journal, leave words of encouragement in the guestbook, or read tributes in honor of Henry.
