As the president of the newly formed Aramco Expats Travel Club, I would like to welcome all Aramcons who love to travel the world on trips small or big, active or leisurely, spartan or pampered.

There is so much out there for young and old. Let's do it together. When you plan a trip with a group or by yourself and would like some ExPat company, please share it with us at anneliese.tedeschi@aramcoexpats.com so we can join you. We'll have it publicized in the monthly Aramco ExPats Travel Club e-newsletter.
For some of you who don't know me I'd like to give you a bit of my history…
Once upon a time, when I was young, I met an Aramcon named Dave Tedeschi on the ski slopes of my native Austria. Six months later, we were happily married and I joined Dave in Saudi Arabia to spend the next 26 years in Dhahran. It was a great adjustment to move from the mountains into the desert. After raising three children to school age, the Dhahran Outing Group (DOGs) encouraged me to take fellow Aramcons to the magical ski mountains back in Tyrol. So the first ski trip was born, followed by many, many more. Then I branched out to lead adventure trips to the Middle East and Asia. It was fun dreaming up a destination, then presenting my ideas to the local travel agent.
True to my heritage I always made sure that some type of fitness activity, mainly walking, was included in the itinerary. Surprisingly I was never short of fellow travelers. In fact afterwards they proudly recounted their hardship stories. In 1993, Dave and I retired to Florida to take it easy.
But I have never given up traveling. It must be in my blood.
