I began working with Saudi Aramco in January of 1974. I am a chemical engineer by education and started out in Facilities Planning, living in Dhahran.  In 1978, I became an engineering supervisor for Abqaiq Plants and moved to Abqaiq. Then in 1979, I was assigned to Aramco Services Company in Houston as an engineering division head.

In 1981, I went back to Abqaiq Plants as a maintenance superintendent. Then in 1982, I moved into operations. From then on, I held various management posts in the southern area oil and gas plants: Abqaiq Plants, Shedgum Gas Plant, and Uthmaniyah Gas Plant. When I retired in 2001, I was the Assistant to the Vice President of Abqaiq Plants and Pipelines. I lived in Abqaiq from 1981 to 2001.

My daughter, Jodi, and son, Joffrey, were 5 and 3 years old when I went to work in Saudi Arabia. They graduated from Abqaiq School. I was remarried in 1988 and my wife, Lynn’s, daughter, Kelley Lockwood, also graduated from Abqaiq School.

Lynn and I retired to Florida in April of 2001. We live in a gated community called Hammock Dunes very near Palm Coast, Florida.  After having lived most of my adult life in Saudi Arabia and traveling the world, I decided to experience our great country, and more specifically our national parks and monuments.  While I did a bit of photography while in Saudi Arabia, I took it up seriously upon retirement. I became very interested in digital photography. Starting with a 3 megapixel Nikon, I worked my way up to my current 12 megapixel Nikon D2x Digital SLR. I specialize in doing landscape panoramas and have won several awards for my digital photography.

Lynn is a super bridge player and spends a lot of time pursuing her interest. She attends national, regional, and local tournaments. She is a member of the Daytona Beach and Palm Coast Bridge Clubs. Often a photographic trip can be linked to a national/ regional bridge tournament. Recently we drove out to Denver where she played in the nationals and I drove on to Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico to revisit Arches and Bryce Canyon National Parks, Antelope Canyon Navajo Tribal Park, and White Sands National Monument. Trips to Reno and Gatlinburg are other examples.

We are members of the Hammock Dunes Club where I enjoy playing golf when I am not at my computer or on a photographic outing. Lynn is a member of the Daytona Beach Saudi Lunch Bunch.

My main website featuring fine art quality images of America is www.RNBPhotos.com and offers prints for sale.  I also have a site that shows my earlier work, www.RNBGalleries.com, that was established to share my travels with family and friends. The RNBGalleries site has not been updated since 2004.
