Washington State represents a large family of former Aramcons who came together on Sunday, October 7th for a mini-reunion sponsored by Aramco ExPats.
We met for lunch at the Hotel Bellwether which is nestled in the quaint cove of Bellingham Bay in Bellingham, Washington. This full-service waterfront hotel offers the subtle charms of an elegant European inn where we enjoyed ourselves in the cozy and elegant Compass Room, accented with a fireplace and a spectacular panoramic view of Bellingham Bay and the islands.
During the cocktails we met old friends and made new ones. Pete Davidson, badge number 5094 entertained us with stories of the early days in Saudi Arabia and also returning early this year to visit old friends and his grandson, Jim Davidson who is currently employed with Saudi Aramco.
The main course was a sumptuous Northwest Grilled Salmon over a Carrot Ginger Beurre Blanc and Chicken Breast Piccata, Lightly Breaded and Topped with a Lemon, Parsley, Caper and White Wine Sauce. After lunch we all introduced ourselves around the tables letting everyone know where we lived and what department we worked for in Saudi Arabia along with other personal antidotes.
Other open discussion among the annuitants included the upcoming Aramco ExPats Travel Club, 2008 Annuitants Reunion in Las Vegas and also various ways we can continue to be positive spokesmen for Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabia.
The afternoon ended with door prizes contributed by Aramco ExPats.
Next year's reunion is already being planned as we all had such a wonderful time and decided to make this a yearly activity. We hope to see all Northwest Aramco ExPats in 2008!
