What's happening at the reunion? Here's an update from the hosts!
Let’s start with the numbers! “990 and counting as of August 15, 2008”
Rooms: There are some left, use them up! Friends and family welcome, even if they aren’t attending the reunion. There are bound to be some cancellations, as well. We will continue to take reservations by mail, with forms, which you can still download from the Aramco ExPats. Your payment must accompany your forms. Note: Room Reservation does not a Reunion reservation make!
The agenda is written to make it easier to do more than one activity. This is not the final time line, but the event days will remain the same.
Golf is being coordinated by Kay Miller. The Buses will leave the Hotel for the Las Vegas National Golf Club at 6 am on the 30th of September. Light lunch and awards follow play.
Duplicate Bridge coordinated by Denise is scheduled for 1 pm Monday September 29th. It is being run by two ACBL officials. Awards will follow play.
Social Bridge will be on Tuesday September 30th at 1 pm in the game annex.
The Tennis Tournament coordinated by Eva and Diane will take place on Wednesday October 1st on the Bally's Tennis courts (attached to the Paris by indoor walkway). Play starts at 7:30 am. Awards will take place in the hospitality area of the Champagne Ballroom Commons immediately following.
Changes to Slot Tournament
Due Gaming Industry Rules and Regulations, we cannot hold the slot tournament. However, if you chose to keep your entry, we will be having a prize award Scavenger Hunt. The items to be hunted will all be found in the Bally's and Paris casinos. You will receive 5 tickets for your $10 entry fee (whether you choose to play or not) and another ticket for every item you find on the list (max 15). If you find all the items in the allotted time, you will receive and extra 5 tickets. Your entry fees have gone toward prizes from Sharper Image and the Slot Hosts will add a few goodies to the pot. The Ticket Pull will be noon on Wednesday October 1st in the Hospitality area. You will not need to be present, but your registration number must be on your ticket! If you do not wish to participate at all, you will be refunded your $10. Entries for the game and tickets will be given out at the Registration Counter after noon on the 29th.
Hoe Downers will meet on Tuesday September 30th at 2pm in the Rivoli Ballroom.
Group Photos (8 persons and over) will be taken between 2-5pm in a designated area TBA. Groups will be required to sign up for a slot (max 25 persons). No large groups will be taken during formal photo time on Wednesday October 1st. Candid photos will be on-going. You will have to be wearing your Name Tag to be photographed.
Sidelines Suq
The Suq will open on Monday at 10am. A raffle will be held with donations from the vendors. Each time you purchase an item, you will be given an entry to the raffle. Make sure your registration number and name are on the ticket! Persons participating will be contacted by Leslie Edwards prior to the event to verify equipment.
Hospitality area will be in the Champagne Ballroom and will be hosted and set-up with a swap table. Bring your Aramco memorabilia to swap. We already have Aramco Worlds from years gone by to swap/give away.
Gala Table Seating Reservations VIP
A chart with table placements will be available in the Hospitality Area as of 8 am on the 29th. After you register, you may sign up for a table using your name and registration number. If you sign up for someone else, use YOUR registration number beside their name so we can trace any discrepancy's latter on. The list will be checked for name and numbers periodically. Any names without a correct number will be scratched. When you arrive and see your name already listed, insert your own registration number after your name, if the listing is correct. You are responsible to place yourself at a table. We are many, so every table will have to be filled. All listings will be in pencil. Special guests and staff tables will be the only pre-saved spaces.
Registration will be open for 2 hours on Sunday the 28th from 4-6 pm (Gala sign-up will be next to the registration desk). It will open again at 8am, Monday, the 29th. The Registration area is located as you enter the convention/Ballroom area. There will be four lines with alphabet designations. You will be checked in and given items and Programs at that time. General questions will be answered in the Hospitality Area only on the first day from 10 am to noon. Please remember that room concerns will be handled by the Hotel Staff.
Name Tags with a group this large name tags will be very important. Your Name Tag will have your registration number on it. This number is how you will be identified for the Annuitant Magazine. The Name Tag will also identify you as a member of our Reunion to Hotel and Casino staff. We sincerely hope you will like the Names Tags enough to wear them all the time. Oh, yes, they will have colors on them that gain entry to the meals.
