On Thursday, 26 January 2006, 7 bikers took to a lonely stretch of highway for a Century Ride, or 100 mile bike ride, along the "new" Haradh to Batha highway between the Haradh gas plant and the turn-off to Shaybah.
Roger Gopal, Deanna Tubbs, Robert Tubbs, Julie Brockish, Rob Trembley, Helmut Bock, and Kent Norton rode from east to west during a shamal with strong cross winds making it difficult to finish. Three bikers completed the ride, Kent Norten, Robert Tubbs, and Helmut Bock, with one time reported at 6 hours and 24 minutes.
The support team included Ken Long, Gregg Magee, Ted Brockish, and Jo Coniry.
