India: Temples, Treasures, & the Taj

Venture into 5,000 years of history, music, dance, and religion. India is a country of contrasts with sacred cows, snake charmers, and holy men. Explore the Mughal city of Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, a masterpiece in marble, built as a monument to love. Travel west to the shopper’s paradise of Jaipur for elephants and gems. This time our tour makes its way to Udaipur, to visit the Lake Palace and exotic Rajasthan. Stepping into the country-side, we visit the Neemrana Fort Palace to put ourselves in touch with the "real" India. Kenya Safari

Once again the Dhahran Outing Group will be offering its Kenya Safari to Saudi Aramco employees. This safari will visit several of the best game parks in East Africa. A night at the famous Ark to view forest and nocturnal animals will be followed by a night in the foothills of Mt. Kenya at Sweetwaters Camp. We are sure to see rhino and other mountain game along with visiting the Equator. A stop at Lake Nakuru in the Rift Valley to see thousands of pink flamingos, leopard, and water buck will give everyone a taste of safari life at its best. We are saving the best for last with three nights in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This park is the northern end of the Serengeti Plain and home the greatest concentration of wildlife anywhere in the world. We will stay at Kitchwa Tembo the best camp in the Mara. Morning balloon or fishing safaris are also available. Cost is approximately $4,000 for adult sharing. Located at the southern tip of India, this island nation surrounded by the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean has it all. Extremely friendly, hospitable and easygoing people. A rich, vibrant and colorful history dating back over 2,500 years. Ruined cities, palaces, temples, fortresses, and ancient dagobas second only to the great pyramids of Egypt. China Tour – 3 Cities

We will travel to China in the second EID Holiday. We will visit the three most representative cities in China. First, we will visit Beijing (the current capital for almost six hundred years), Shanghai (the finance and business center of the modern China) and Su-zhou as the canal water city famous for its silk products. In Beijing, we will visit famous sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City Palace, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace and others. In Shanghai, we will see landmarks such as the famous Bund and museum, Pearl TV Tower and Tea Garden. We will also visit Su-Zhou for its famous water canal system and silk factory.

Iran Discovery Tour
August 25 to September 3, 2011

New Trip!

Once again the Dhahran Outing Group is offering a special tour to the Magic Carpet capital of the world. This year’s trip will have us spending ten days in Iran, which will give us time to explore some of those unusual destinations you have always heard about.

We will visit Tehran, Yazd, Nai’n, Isfahan, and Shiraz. In Tehran we will visit three wonderful museums plus for the first time the Crown Jewels of the Kings of Iran. Yazd will allow us time to visit with the Zoroastrian community, viewing their fire temples and towers of silence, where they leave their dead to be consumed by birds of prey. They say the Isfahan is half the world and you will get a chance to explore the art and history of this fantastic city. Beautiful mosques, museums, 200 year old bridges, and a special night time visit to the House of Strength. In Shiraz we will explore Percepolis and the tombs of Hafez, Sadi, and some of the most beautiful gardens and old palaces in Iran.
