Aramco Launches 75th Anniversary Website
May 29, 1933 was a day that would, quite literally, change the world. It was on this day that the Saudi Government granted its historic oil concession to Standard Oil of California, thus planting the first tiny seeds of what would soon grow into the largest oil company in the world - Saudi Aramco. As the company prepares to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of this watershed event, its Public Relations Department recently launched a new Web site dedicated to the last three-quarters of a Century.
Launched January 1 of this year, the site's theme is "Celebrating 75 Years." Loaded within its virtual pages are scores of fascinating insights into the history of Saudi Aramco. Visitors can navigate their way through a photographic timeline of important company milestones or view profiles of early pioneers like Max Steineke or Abdullah Al-Tariki. Current employees are equally honored in a collection of video vignets celebrating a handful of the more than 51,000 men and women who can call themselves Aramcons. "Energy for generations," a new motto for the 75th Anniversary, is made possible only through the hard work and dedication of Aramco's past, present and future employees.
The site's "Press Center" contains helpful news updates about the Anniversary in addition to a number of image galleries spanning the seven and a half decades of Aramco's life to this point. For visitors desiring a more interactive experience, the PR Department saw fit to include the "75th Blog" where the thoughts and comments of former and current employees and dependents can be posted. Saudi Aramco's year-long celebration of its work and its people will generate exciting news from all over the world. Their new Web site, www.saudiaramco75.com, is just the tool one needs to stay on top of these developments as Aramco stands poised to make history once again.
