Nimah Ismail Nawwab
Nimah Ismail Nawwab is an English writer, photographer, lecturer and internationally recognized poet. Educated in Saudi Arabia, she is considered a trailblazing writer and poet.
She has been dubbed by major media outlets a 'cultural ambassadress', 'a voice for Arab women' and 'a pioneer' based on a range of interactive readings and presentations in various countries across the East and West.
Her work and best selling book The Unfurling have been featured in Newsweek International, MSNBC, AP, The Washington Post, reproduced in the Japanese English Yomiuri Shimbum, LA Times, the Malay Berita Harian, Hi magazine, Arabian Lady, Japan Times, Arab News, Elaph, Laha, and Saudi Gazette. She has been interviewed by Channel News Asia, NPR and others.
Her interests in diversity, change, tolerance, women’s issues and empowering youth have led to involvement in various activities and presentations.
Her pioneering work includes a historic, first of its kind public book signing in Arabia and another in Washington, D.C.
She is also a poetry judge and facilitator of poetry sessions in several countries. Her poetry has been translated into several languages and taught at schools and colleges in Arabia and abroad.
In 2006, another historic step took place as Nimah was nominated a Young Global Leader of the Young Global Leaders Forum, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum, joining 175 new leading executives, public figures and intellectuals from 50 countries.
Nominations are based on selecting members who have substantial leadership experience, have already clearly demonstrated a commitment to serving society and are willing to devote their energy and expertise for five years to tackle the most critical issues facing the world.

Nimah’s interests include photography with an emphasis on portraits, weddings and nature shots in addition to studio photography and developing. She is interested in layout and design of print and websites.
Personal interests
She has long been interested in Saudi artifacts, Middle Eastern folkloric costumes, silver jewelry, Persian rugs, Nomadic weavings and pottery.
She loves animals and enjoys listening to a wide range of eclectic music, traveling, cooking, researching international dishes and swimming.
