Something’s happening to Priscilla.

But wait a minute. Who’s Priscilla and what’s happening?

It’s time once again for the Dhahran Theatre Group (DTG) to present its annual pantomime. This year, they’re bringing “Mother Goose,” a traditional British panto written by John Crocker.

You remember what a panto is. It’s the show where nothing is quite as it seems, the audience gets to interact by booing the villain and cheering the good guys, and everything is magical.

But back to Priscilla (played by Sue Belvo): Why are Mother Goose (Jeff Belaire), her children, Jack (Paul Carr) and Jill (Wilma Cheshire), and goose girl Brownie (Susan Heslington) so dependent upon her? Why are the Squire (Jef Geagan) and his hapless henchmen, Willy (Jan Biggs) and Nilly (Linda Pilon) trying to steal her? And who wins when the Fairy (Danielle Mantyh) and the Demon (David Crookes) go to battle over her?

Will Colin (Nuala McElwain), with the help of the townspeople of Tippetywitchet, be able to save the day? Everything rests on the finding of a goose quill in the Enchanted Forest and the verdict of King Goosegog (Stephen Cheshire).

To find out exactly what all this means, you’ll have to see the show. Directed by Jamie Clark, in his last appearance as a DTG director, “Mother Goose” will take the stage at 7 p.m. Dec. 3-6, with an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. Dec. 6. Tickets are on sale now and may also be purchased at the box office one hour before the show.
