VILSECK, Germany, August 18, 2005 --  Saudi Arabia, thanks to Saudi Aramco's top-notch Little League baseball program, will once again be represented in the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

The Saudi Arabian team won the Trans-Atlantic Regional Championship for the sixth consecutive year and the 16th time in the past 20 years, defeating Ramstein, Germany, 13-2, on Thursday in the tournament's championship game. 

Company Team in World Series The Saudi Arabian team, made up of dependents of Saudi Aramco employees, dominated the Trans-Atlantic Region, outscoring opponents 84-2 on their way to the Little League World Series.

The team, composed of children of company employees, dominated the tournament, outscoring opponents 84-2 in eight games.

Pitcher Alex Robinett starred in the tournament championship game by limiting Ramstein to three hits and striking out seven. Kyle Al-Sughaiyer delivered two key hits for the winners, including a bases-loaded double in the fifth inning that scored two runs and helped break the game open.

Andrew Holden led the team in its semi-final game Aug. 10, a 13-0 triumph over Rota, Spain. Holden pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven, and also contributed a home run. Matt Timoney went 3-for-3 at the plate, and Ryan Bumstead added a pair of hits.

The Little League World Series starts Aug. 19. The Saudi Arabian team begins its World Series play on Aug. 20 against the Asia champion, Chiba City, Japan, in a game scheduled to be televised by ESPN.

The other teams in Pool D with Japan and Saudi Arabia are Latin America champion Valencia, Venezuela, and Caribbean champion Willemstad, Curacao, which won the 2004 Little League World Series championship.

The first- and second-place teams in Pools C and D will advance to the International semi-final round, which begins on Aug. 24, and culminates in the International championship game on Aug. 27.

The World Series championship game will be played on Aug. 28.
