Vivacious Georgia Flemming is the first employee from Senior Staff Payroll, Dhahran, to appear as one of Aramco's women at work and this recognition of a service dear to all hearts is long overdue. No newcomer to Aramco, Georgia worked for three years with the Traffic and Purchasing department in her home town of San Francisco, prior to arriving in Saudi Arabia. Away from her desk, she spends her time collecting "practically everything" - including countries. An enthusiastic and determined traveler, Georgia has seen most of the European countries, traveled extensively in Africa and the Middle East. A round-the-world trip was the high spot on her long vacation. And like most of us, Georgia has pictures aplenty from these tours. An avid golfer, she passes many hours on the Rolling Hills course during the cooler winter months and between trips and bouts with par, Georgia knits. As for tennis and swimming - she's just not particularly interested in either.

It's lucky that Phyllis La Fata likes people as much as she does. Her job in Dhahran Personnel records involves maintaining employees' service records, ordering service pins and seeing to it that the family roster is up-to-date. All her previous work experience has been in the same field. Phyllis was employed by the Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company in New York and just before joining Aramco did personnel work for the Daytona Beach, Florida, Civil service Board. This petite blonde from Grymes Hill, Staten Island, rarely misses a Thursday night on the patio. Swimming is another recreation, and besides her interest in people, Phyllis is interested in places and is thus another one of Aramco's enthusiastic travelers.

Collete Thomas, senior stenographer in the Clerical Services Division, Ras Tanura, capably directs a staff of 21. A stenographic background at school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa led her into an interesting position as civilian shorthand reporter with the Army of Occupation, where she was attached to the Inspector General Department. It was during this period that she had her first look at such cities as Paris, Stuttgart, Rome, Salzburg and St. Moritz. Her tour with the Army gave her a taste for foreign work which led to Aramco in 1953. After spending three months in Dhahran, she was assigned to Ras Tanura where she has worked with E & MS as well as Accounting. Music, books, cooking, and liking for foreign languages are the main interests of this competent member of the Accounting Department, and she is presently brushing up on Italian verbs in preparation for a visit to southern Italy on her next leave.
