Saudi Refining Capacity to Rise by Half

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (March 24, 2006) - Saudi Arabia, already set to build two big export oil refineries, may expand two existing plants by 100,000 barrels per day each.
A senior Saudi Aramco executive said that if all projects advance, it would boost the kingdom`s refining capacity growth by nearly 50 percent to 1 million barrels per day by 2010, Gulf Daily News said Friday.
'We are looking at expanding Yanbu and Ras Tanura by 100,000 barrels per day each,' Aramco vice-president for corporate planning Ali Al Muhareb said while attending a meeting in New Delhi.
