I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I graduated from Texas A & M at Commerce, Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education certified to teach elementary subjects, math, and kindergarten. I completed my Master’s Degree in Reading from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire. My first year of teaching was in a private church preschool. My public school classroom teaching included 10 years of 2nd grade, 6 years of kindergarten, and 1 year of 4th grade. In 1999, I became certified as a learning resource specialist and attended classes at the University of North Texas so I could become a library media specialist. For the past five years I have been a librarian at Pattison Elementary School in Katy, Texas for students in grades K-5. We have a student population of 930.

I have been married for 32 years. My husband recently retired from the FBI. We have a beautiful daughter, a wonderful son-in-law, and two precious Weimareiner dogs. My husband’s career took us to many places. So besides living in Texas, we lived in Germany, Georgia, New Jersey, Alabama, Oklahoma, New York, and New Hampshire.

I love to play duplicate bridge. I frequently go to bridge tournaments and have earned the title of Bronze Life Master. I’m very close to becoming a Silver Life Master. Of course, I also like to read, especially children’s books. I also love movies and shopping!

I’m very excited about this trip to Saudi Arabia and plan to keep a journal of our day-to-day activities so I can share my adventures with my family, students and staff.
