Bread Pudding

Al Hasa Cookbook - 1976

4 slices white toast (cubed)
3 cups milk (scalded)
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
3 eggs (well beaten)
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup nuts (chopped)
1/4 cup raisins
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese

Cream bread and milk in a buttered pan (2 quart baking dish). Let bread soak 10 minutes. In a bowl combine sugar with spice and salt, sir in eggs and butter, then mix rest of ingredients. Pour over bread cubes and stir lightly until well blended.

Bake 30 minutes at 350o.
