Dhahran Theatre Group Cookbook, 1993

Ingredients:

Dough:

5 Cups flour, sifted
1 Teaspoon baking soda
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Cup soft shortening
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon vanilla
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup sour cream

Filling:

1 1/2 Cups seedless raisins
1/3 Cup water
1/2 Cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
Pinch of salt
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add sour cream. Add flour mixture to shortening mixture. Refrigerate until firm enough to handle.

Make filling by simmering all ingredients, stirring until thick. Cool.
