The Abqaiq Cookbook - 1973
2 cups sugar
2/3 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
½ tsp. of desired flavoring
5 drops of desired food coloring
Combine the sugar, syrup, and water in sauce pan. Place over heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Cook without stirring until mixture reaches the hard crack stage or 300 degrees. Remove from heat and add flavoring and coloring. Cool slightly. Drop small amount of syrup over skewers that have been placed on buttered cookie sheets of placed in small buttered muffin tins.
Yield: 2 dozen lollipops
