Boarding Life
Students attend Andrews Osborne Academy from countries as far away as Korea, Germany, Mexico, Japan and Saudi Arabia. These young people might have a roommate from Colorado, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Maryland, or even Cleveland. Just imagine the global friendships that are created as students from down the street, across the country and around the world live, laugh and learn from one another.
Over the weekend, students at AOA might take in a movie, shop at a local mall, attend a concert, or just spend time with their friends in the dorm. There are five dormitories, each with a living room and cozy kitchen. Often the refrigerator is stocked by the students with their own selection of “comfort food”. One of the best features of boarding life at AOA is that there is always a houseparent in each dorm who is there to say goodbye in the morning and to greet the students after school each afternoon.
Boarding students at AOA enjoy time with their friends and have easy access to after school athletic events and club activities. Students also have plenty of time for studying and attend a mandatory study session each evening. Each dormitory also has computers, a fireplace, a piano, a television set, and laundry facilities. Students may bring their own cell phones and computers.
