FAST FACTS
Monte Vista Christian School is a co-educational college preparatory school for students in grades 9 – 12.
Founded in 1926, MVCS is the largest Christian boarding school in the Western United States, with 630 high school students of which 121 are boarding students.
MVCS is located 80 miles south of San Francisco (SFO) and 50 miles southwest of San Jose (SJC), in South Santa Cruz County outside of Watsonville, California, the campus features 100 acres of rolling lawns, ponds, six athletic fields, two gymnasiums, a swimming pool, equestrian center, boys and girls dormitories, and forty-eight buildings.

Monte Vista Christian School is dedicated to being the premier, college preparatory Christian school in Northern California, committed to preparing students to be world changers.
ACADEMICS
The high school curriculum exemplifies the Mission of Monte Vista Christian School. It strives to provide a sound, liberal arts education in a Christian setting, and to encourage critical thinking, reading and writing in an atmosphere where integrity, moral courage, and community service are paramount.
Twenty-two Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses in a variety of subjects allow students to acquire more in-depth knowledge at an accelerated pace.
ATHLETICS
MVCS recognizes that competitive sports are crucial to the overall development of young men and women. Our athletic program focuses on developing the student athlete, who learns to balance sports with academic and other commitments.
We offer a full range of competitive athletic offerings for girls and boys, and field more than 50 competitive teams: Football, Soccer, Golf, Cross Country, Track and Field, Swimming, Tennis, Basketball, Softball, Wrestling, Baseball, Volleyball and a competitive Equestrian team.

Students at all levels of interest and talent may pursue Drama, Choral, Instrumental and Visual Arts at MVCS.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
The MVCS community service program is a meaningful way for our students to show God’s love to our community. Each year our students volunteer over 15,000 hours to the local community.
TECHNOLOGY
In addition to the over 50 computers on campus available for student use, our entire campus is wireless, allowing our resident student instant firewalled, filtered access to the internet. In addition Skype is available on dormitory computers, and color printers are available to our resident students. Parents and student may access grades and homework assignment through our student management system, Focus.
BOARDING
The cornerstone of Monte Vista for eighty years, the boarding program brings students, staff, and faculty together in a supportive and nurturing environment. Above all, the boarding program seeks to reinforce the Core Values of Monte Vista – Faith, Integrity, Excellence, Community, Partnership, and Global Outreach.
Every boarding staff member encourages and nurtures each individual student to strive for excellence in all areas of life. Whether helping a student with her/his homework, playing basketball in the gym, or counseling a student, the boarding staff continuously works to develop each student’s potential.
Student lounges with big screen TV’s and comfy sofas, in addition to fully-equipped kitchens, provide places for students to relax and get to know their classmates.
