Our 9th Grade F.I.R.S.T. (Foundation, Integrity, Respect, Service, Team) Program is designed to provide a student-centered program of learning based on the premise that learning occurs best when experiences in and out of the classroom are connected through integrated teaching approaches and planning. The 10th Grade Academic Program is designed to help students improve and hone Critical Thinking Skills, Creative Problem-Solving Skills and Communication Skills. Students are challenged to take the academic skills they have learned in 9th Grade and apply them more broadly to the greater world in which they live. These two programs bring students and teachers together to solve problems, think deeply and work together to navigate their world with character and vision as they prepare the students for success in 11th and 12th grade.
Post Graduate Program
The Post-Graduate (PG) Program at Tilton School is designed as an intensive transitional year for select students who have graduated from high school but may not be fully prepared for college. PG students benefit from a custom-designed program that meets their unique needs and provides appropriate advanced educational challenges.

College Counseling
Tilton’s academic philosophy is a simple one – young people have within them the potential to learn, to lead, and to change the world. Tilton’s academic goal is to prepare students for a future as life-long learners, starting with post-secondary college education. One size, however, doesn’t fit all. Tilton’s College Counselors work with advisors, students, and families on appropriate course selection, the range of post-secondary opportunities, and the in's and out's of the application process. During the 11th- and 12th-grade years, counselors meet regularly with each student to compile a realistic list of college possibilities and to review his/her progress in the application process.
Athletics
Our Interscholastic Athletic Program recognizes that student-athletes have the power to reach their potential in a number of areas through interscholastic sports. Students have the opportunity to learn about living a fit lifestyle, school spirit, cooperation, sportsmanship, leadership and good decision-making.
Arts and Theater
Students can take part in a theater production as a member of the cast or technical crew, join one of the School's instrumental or vocal ensembles, work for our student publications (newspaper or literary magazine), or participate in creative and cultural events throughout the school year.
Community Service
Tilton has a fundamental commitment to community service. Students volunteer their time and energy to a variety of local programs.
Leadership
The Leadership Program strives to foster personal growth, maturity and integrity in students. Opportunities exist for students to participate in the Ambassador Program, as Dormitory and Library Proctors, elected Class Officers, Peer Counselors, and more.
+Five Program
Our +5 (Plus 5) is the bridge that connects traditional classroom learning to first-hand experiential learning. +5 is a co-curricular program integrating five areas of concentration: Art & Culture, Outdoor Experience, Athletics, Community Service and Leadership.
