Today was a much better day for Henry :)
He woke in the night at 2:30 am on the dot, looked at me, and demanded, “Where are they?” So we know that all afternoon when he appeared asleep he heard the Smiths arrive, and talk to him. Today he ate - twice. This news may seem trivial to some, but around here his eating is a major victory. Terry and I were talking about the Federalist Papers ( there is a long lead in to this subject), and mentioned Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay. Later, Terry asked what the housekeeper’s name is, and Henry volunteered, out of the clear blue and with a smile on his face, “Madison.” (her name is Veronica.) His other statement today, as Terry was talking to him, was, “No more Nomar Garciaparra.” Dodger people, can you translate?
Henry is weaker today, but he talked some, he ate some, he squirms in the bed some.
All good signs. Very tired late in the afternoon, and accepted a dose of morphine.
Signing out for today – and love to all - Bonnie and the Cook family.
