Rebecca Doss Wood

February 9, 2012

Rebecca Doss Wood, age 67, of Fayetteville, Tennessee and formerly of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Thursday night, February 9, 2012, at her residence.

News of Rebecca's passing reached us from a fellow Aramcon, Myron, who wrote:

"We received word on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from George that Rebecca Wood had lost her long time battle with cancer. She passed away at her residence.

George and Rebecca had two sons. Shawn is the oldest son, and their youngest son and daughter-in-law live in the same town and have one grandson and one granddaughter (the greatest joy of their life).

I can tell you that Randy and Rebecca lived in Dhahran the last time we were in Saudi which would have been sometime in the 1990 until about 1999. Rebecca was very active in craft projects. She made beautiful flower arrangements and many other types of decorations. She was President of the Dhahran Women's Group (I cannot remember the year she served in that position). She helped set up many get-togethers to build strong friendships between the Expat women and the Saudi women that lived in our Aramco camp or close to it. We had many happy and fun socials and trips with all the different women representing all the many countries in the Dhahran Women's Group."

Rebecca was president of the Dhahran Women's Group in 1997 and it was something that she cherished. She battled triple negative breast cancer from 2006 until her death on February 9, 2012 with grace and dignity. Her web page address is www.rebecca433.com. If anyone reading this comment would like additional information about either Rebecca or about triple negative breast cancer I will be happy to correspond. I can be reached at george_r_wood@yahoo.com. I thank Myron for her help.
