Dorothy Srembo shares this with you since many of Shirley's friends from her ARAMCO days may not have heard the sad news. She arrived in Saudi Arabia in 1974 and was the Head Nurse of the ICU at the then Dhahran Health Center. She and her husband Bassam resided in Houston,TX.
I have such fond memories of Shirley and my mother, Joan Carl, as friends and co-workers in the ICU and Recovery Room at the Dhahran Hospital. Both have left such good memories. May Shirley's family be comforted to know that she is in wonderful company.
Laurie I knew your mother from our ARAMCO days. I was a nurse anesthetist there from 1974 to 1977. Your mom was a fun gal!! Just wanated to share that with you.
Bassam, my condolences to you and your family. Shirley will certainly be missed. I remember fondly our days in Abqaiq, your kindness to our family and the cauliflower frtters!
I remember Shirley fondly from Frankfurt, Germany, in 1973-75. I have not seen her since then, but she made such a wonderful impression on us that I remember her so well. She was a beautiful person. I am only sorry that I have not seen her since that time long ago. Even after 38 years, I am deeply saddened by the news.
