Cydnie Powers

Cydnie Powers, wife of Larry Sharpe of Pflugerville, TX died of a heart attack on September 13, 2012 in Austin,TX. Beloved daughter of Marte Marie Powers and former President and Vice Chairman of Aramco, the late R.W. 'Brock' Powers, Cydnie was born on December 9, 1954 in Dhahran where she spent her childhood.
She graduated from TASIS (The American School in Switzerland) and University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN where she majored in computer science and math. From 1980 to 1983 Cydnie worked in EDP as a Programmer Analyst. She then moved to Austin where she held several IT positions over the years at state and local levels. Her concern for the blind and visually impaired led her to master the Braille system in order to assist them in court issues.
Brilliant and beautiful, Cydnie will be remembered as soft-spoken, gentle and caring and will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.

Dear Marte: I have just read the news of Cydnie's passing and I sorrow for your loss.Gone are our 'good old days' and the happy parties we shared in Aramco. But thank God for those memories. Rena xxx
