The tour of Aramco’s Digital and IT Corporate Data Center and other tech facilities allowed retirees to see how technology is changing the world.

Aramco Technology Tour Keeps Retirees Connected
Retirees gather outside the Aramco Corporate Data Center in Dhahran after touring the facility as part of the recent KSA Expat Reunion.

On March 7 and 8, 70 Aramco expat retirees visited the Digital and Information Technology (D&IT) Corporate Data Center (CDC), the Lab of Excellence, and the 4IR Center.

The CDC, a state-of-the-art facility that houses the company’s most critical information and systems, provided retirees with an exclusive tour. Led by Lujain AlSharif and Hassan AlMousa, the tour provided an overview of the facility’s operations and answered questions from the retirees, who were fascinated by the sheer size of the facility and the amount of data that was being processed in real-time.

The CDC management team, led by Farooq Jwesm and Saleh AlQarni, were on hand to greet the retirees and expressed their appreciation for the years of service that had been given to Aramco.

The D&IT Lab of Excellence was the next stop on their itinerary, offering retirees a chance to see cutting-edge developments in the field of information technology. The tour was led by Mariya Almarhoon, Rosa Rubui, and Abdullah Shaikh, who showcased the lab’s latest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things, all of which are at the forefront of technological advancements in the digital era.

Lab of Excellence head Mohammad Jalaly said it was an honorable opportunity to showcase Aramco’s D&ITs progress to the visiting guests.

The 4IR Center was the final destination of the guests’ visit. They were received by the 4IR management team, led by Mishaal Alageel, along with Yaqub Allishlish, Fahad Alqwaiz, Fatima Alomair, and the tour coordinator, Alya Musabbeh.

The team took the guests on a journey showcasing how technology is rapidly changing the way we live, work, and communicate. The tour highlighted how Aramco is leveraging technology to create more efficient and sustainable operations. The retirees gained valuable insights into how the Fourth Industrial Revolution is shaping the future of the industry, Saudi Arabia, and the world as a whole.

The tour event was organized by 2023 KSA Expat Reunion Steering Committee members Tarik AlGarawi and Wallace Koenning, in collaboration with Aramco, as a way to connect with retired employees who had dedicated many years of service to the organization.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for the retirees to witness firsthand how technology is changing the world, and how it can be used to benefit society. It also provided a glimpse into the future, where technological advancements will continue to shape the world and create new opportunities for innovation and progress.
