Through hard work and perseverance, Aramco retiree Dr. Azzam Eltarahony, badge number 139844, recently celebrated the grand opening of Alnahar General Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt. As the photographs show, this is a top-rate facility. Alnahar General is an 11-floor building and includes an OP department that provides most medical specialties, an X-ray department with CT, X-ray and the 4D US, a fully equipped lab, 5 operating rooms, 15 ICU beds, 7 PICU beds, 15 incubators for NICU, and 24 beds on the IP floors. The ER is equipped with monitors that help the patients for up to 48 hours. All auxiliary facilities such as laundry, central sterilization department, cafeteria, kitchen and IT department are available.
Dr. Azzam worked with Aramco for 20 years as a QI physician in the Medical Designated Facilities Department (MDFD). Dr. Azzam spent 10 Years in Dhahran, 3 years in Hassa and the last 7 years in Jeddah. In this new venture, Dr. Azzam says, "I applied all my experience of being a QI physician in Aramco for developing all the departments. ...I tried to use my experience with the major private hospitals that are contracted with Aramco for my retirement project."
