October 2nd is the birthday of Dr. Kiran Ata ur Rehman, daughter of Eng. Iqbal Ahmed Khan. This year, the day was within a week time of Eid Ul Azha. As every year, there was a BBQ party for the family planned at Dr. Ata ur Rehman’s residence and luckily the day was Friday, October 2, 2015. The morning started with all smiles and wishes from Obaid, Habib and Mariam. Mariam being a born artist presented Kiran with a handmade birthday card.
When Kiran reached her office at Hamdard University she was further enlightened by a surprise birthday party being arranged by her colleagues. That gathering was small; however, everyone enjoyed the occasion. They ate cake brought by Mrs. Nasreen Arshad. Ms Ambreen, Ms. Anjum, and Ms. Shama all presented gifts to the birthday girl. Dr. Ata and Dr Kiran took a short leave from their office at 1 pm to make arrangements at home after Friday prayers. They had hardly started settling things when they were hit by an avalanche. All the friends of Habib who were supposed to come at 8 pm started pouring at 4 pm and the entire house was echoing with their jubilant chuckles and laughter. All of the boys were having great time enjoying games and snakes prepared by Kiran.
Hafiz Mohammad Anus, Dr. Ata’s nephew, was a great help who came quite early to help in everything. Umaima, Mrs. Bari, Rudaba Baji and all the ladies helped in making the meat rods ready for BBQ. The BBQ table was set to fire after 7 pm as guests started to join them. Jawaid Khan, Dr. Ata’s cousin, took the huge responsibility of making BBQ and held the table till 11 pm. All the guest from the family were served Biryani, Haleem, Kheer, Chicken & Beef Tikka along with cold drinks. The occasion was all healthy eating and enjoyment. The guests left after midnight.
