The newly weds with a message for their guests
Umair Abdul Hameed is the nephew of Engr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Vice President, of Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association Karachi (SAEEA).
The Nikkah that took place on 18th March between Mr. Umair Abdul Hameed S/o Mr. Abdul Hameed Khan/Shabana Abdul Hameed and Ms. Mahin Imtiaz D/o Syed Imtiaz Ashraf finally came to conclusion as the Reception and Valima Ceremony took place last month on 30th December, 2016 and 1st of Jan 2017 respectively.
Relatives from both the Bride and Groom’s family came from USA, Canada and India to bless the couple with their best wishes and regards.
The Nikkah was already made in Masjid Ashraf-ul-Madaris, located in Gulshan e Iqbal, Karachi on 18th March 2016. The date for the final reception was fixed by both families and with mutual consent the Rukhsati date was finalized for 30th December, 2016 and Valima for 1st of Jan, 2017, as the Bride had to finish her Bachelor’s in Architecture degree from (NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi) and her final thesis was to be completed by start of December.
The Bride’s (Mahin Imtiaz) Aunt (Uroosa Farhan) and Elder Sister (Ada Imtiaz) reside in Mississauga, Canada came to Karachi on 27th November, a month before the wedding to help in the wedding preparations.
The Grooms maternal family blessed the couple by their presence and came all the way from India crossing the Indian Border from Waugh on foot and then travelled from Lahore to Karachi. They all reached Pakistan on 25th of December, 2016. Groom’s Grandmother Mrs. Shoeba Begum was the most senior person of the family present at the wedding. The other family members were as three uncles namely Pervez Haleem, Suhail Haleem with his wife Shehla Suhail and Nadeem Khan, One Aunty Rehana Begum and her husband Ch. Obaid Ur Rehman. Also two cousin sisters Uzma Reyaz and Rooma Naushad along with her daughter Mysha Naushad Farooqi were also part of the group.
The Brides Aunt “Sara Rahman” and Uncle “Waseem ur Rahman” came from New Jersey, USA and reached Karachi on 27th of December.

The Rukhsati Function was arranged at the Pavilion End Club located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The Barat reached the venue at 09:00 PM sharp after which the function started, lots of pictures were snapped at the event. It was heaven for the foodies as scrumptious food was available at the event, Fried Fish, Chicken BBQ and curry, Pulau, Mixed Vegetables Curry, Salad and mouth-watering Gajar ka Halwa as the dessert, Coal Tea was the icing to the cake. The event finished at 12:00 midnight in compliance to the law of all wedding ceremonies to be finished before 12:00 a.m. The Groom’s friends arranged fireworks as the couple reached home and put an amazing show for everybody. Few family rituals took place and the bride was honored by many gifts from the groom’s family and relatives. As it was the birthday of Uzma Reyaz from Meerut so a cake was cut the the occasion was celebrated.

The Valima Ceremony took place at Al-Masaad Banquet, located in North Nazimabad, just 800 meters from the Groom’s house. The Couple reached the Banquet around 08:30 and were engaged by the photographers for almost 50 minutes and were made to pose for the pictures.
Yet again, the event was enjoyed by all with Makai ki Roti and Palak Paneer being the major attraction for all the guests other items on the dinner menu comprised of Biryani, Chicken Pockets, Fried Fish, Qorma, Chicken BBQ and Ghulab Jamun and Kheer being the dessert.
Alhamdulillah with the blessings of Almighty everything turned out to be really good and all the guests reached back safely.
Last but not the least we would like to mention two special friends without whom the event would have not been possible they were the Bride’s friend Ms. Srah Sabah Khan and Groom’s friend Mr. Mustafa Sattar who travelled all the way from Canada to attend the wedding.
