The New Horizon Post Retirement

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young." ~Henry Ford

"Wisdom comes not from age, but from education and learning." ~Anton Chekhov

"Education is the best provision for old age." ~Aristotle

Inspired by the above famous quotes; I, Mohammed Ifteqaruddin, badge number 140948, a retired employee of Ras Tanura Refinery Maintenance Department, have spent an entire career of 33 years in the Machine shop with mechanical equipment, surrounded by technical staff. Post retirement, I have decided to study Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

To achieve my target, I focused on my subject and recently graduated with “Masters of Sciences in Psychology” from Dr. B R Ambedkar Open University in Hyderabad, India.

The New Horizon Post Retirement

During weekend classes, the professors were surprised to see me, a much older student sitting in the class. They often asked me to describe my experiences at Saudi Aramco so that they could learn the practical side of a textbook’s content.

Currently, I am a life member of the following organizations:

  • Indian Academy of Applied Psychology
  • Pondicherry Psychology Association
  • International Association of Holistic Psychology

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“one who treads a path in search of knowledge, has his path to Paradise made easy by God.”

Whenever I am giving Technical Training courses, I use all of this knowledge and do a thorough analysis to solve the participants’ psychological issues.

I hope by achieving this, I have become a role model and inspiration for my family and grandchildren.
