Edwin Bernard Conger Sr.
Funeral services for Edwin Bernard Conger Sr., age 55 of Oak Ridge will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004 at the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge with the Rev. Donnie Wilkerson officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Conger, a lifelong member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at Saint Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. He lived and worked overseas for 20 years with Saudi Aramco before retiring in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Conger; mother, Nell Conger of Oak Ridge; daughter, Gretchen Conger of Monroe; son, Edwin Bernard Conger Jr. of Shreveport; brothers-in-law, Bruce Garner and Mike Garner; sisters-in-law, Sandra Ford and Pat Conger; nephews, Jon Conger and Joe Conger and niece, Sue Ann Poling.
Mr. Conger is preceded in death by his father, Sam Conger; a son, Wlliam Conger and a brother, Joe Conger.
Pallbearers will be Weldon Fitch, Johnny Fitch, Clint Shepherd, Robert Barham, Larry Barr, Marc Withorne, Charles Greer and Dr. Roland Poraski. Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson Orr, Geral Kennedy and Jay Flynn.
The Conger family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to all of those who have helped by donating blood, plasma and platelets during their time of need.
