Harold Melvin Rowland
Harold Melvin Rowland, born in Baton Rouge January 20, 1929, passed on March 27, 2017 at the age of 88. A loving husband of Janice Messer Rowland of 66 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Stacy Morris Rowland and Eva Ricks Rowland and brother Stacy Warren Rowland. Harold joined the Army Air Corp in 1946, left Occupied Japan and the Air Force in 1949. From 1963-66 he worked for Aramco in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia, which allowed him to travel the world with his family. Harold retired after 30years as a machinist for Exxon Chemicals in 1981. He is survived by wife Jan, daughter Rhonda Rowland Parault husband Michael Gene Parault, son Ren Harold Rowland husband Joseph Gilbert Bulley. He is also survived by two grandsons, Michael Gene Parault Jr. Wife Kacie Lynn Parault, Mark Rowland Parault wife Laci Falcon Parault. He leaves two great- grandchildren, Luke Alexander Parault and Ella Kate Parault. Sisters Irma Lee Rowland Harrison, Minnie (Liz) Rowland Setton and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, April 1,2017 at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. starting at 4:00pm-8:00pm. Visitation resumes Sunday, April 2, at Blackwater United Methodist Church 10000 Blackwater Rd. Central, LA from 2:00pm until funeral service at 3:00pm. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BUMC cemetery fund or St. Joseph Carpenter House Foundation.
