Memorial services were held in Dhahran Sunday, May 2, for Richard Lewis Montoney, a resident of the community for the past 23 years, who died last Wednesday in the Dhahran Health Center. Mr. Montoney, 59, had been hospitalized for six weeks.

Bom in Xenia, 111., Mr. Montoney graduated from high school in Gary, Ind., and received his B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Prior to his Aramco affiliation, he spent 10 years with Lockheed Aircraft Corp. as engineer and designer.

Mr. Montoney's career in Aramco engineering began in 1948. In 1952 he was named assistant superintendent, Maintenance and Shops, and in 1964 he became superintendent of the Home Ownership Division of the Local Industrial Development Department. For the past five years he was contracts engineer in the Arab Contracts Division LIDD, and he was scheduled to depart for retirement in July.

An active member of the Fellowship Group, Mr. Montoney served both as vice chairman of the Dhahran group and as treasurer of the interdistrict council.

Survivors include his wife Anna Roberta (Bobbie) and son Richard William, 15, a ninth grader at the Dhahran School. Mrs. Montoney and her son will leave Dhahran in the end of June following Richard's graduation. [Photograph]
