Salim A. Najjar, Tapline Government Relations coordinator, Lebanon, died of a heart attack at the AUB Hospital in Beirut on May 9.

Born and educated in Lebanon, Mr. Najjar received a BA in 1951 from the Bishmezzine High School where he taught for two years and for which he served as chairman of the administrative committee.

Mr. Najjar joined Tapline in 1951. Two years later he was promoted to shift oil dispatcher. In 1969, Mr. Najjar was named Community Affairs representative, Public Relations Department; three years later he transferred to Government Relations as a Public Relations representative.

In 1972, Mr. Najjar was named assistant to the general manager of the Administration Department. In 1976, he transferred back to Government Relations to the position he held at the time of his death.

Mr. Najjar is survived by his widow and two children. [Photograph]
