Shirley Ann Osborn, age 74 of Bridgeport, IL passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born May 22, 1945 in Pixley Township, Clay County IL to Charles Thomas Brown and Vida Mae (Phillips) Brown (deceased).

Shirley’s life stretched from being born in a log cabin with no electricity and riding a horse to school until age 10, to living abroad in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (1981- 1995) and becoming a world traveler. She worked at a variety of occupations throughout life and was highly valued for her contributions. She was secretary at Dhahran Jr. High for the Guidance Counselor Richard Barr and later Principal Jess Arceneaux. One of her favorite things to do was deep desert camping. Her commitment to community was evident through volunteering of her time and talent with Project Linus, missionary work in Yemen and Kenya, and many local organizations. Shirley had a passion for music, was a talented pianist, avid gardener, and quilter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, IL and an associate member of Dhahran Protestant Fellowship in Saudi Arabia. Shirley’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, her church community, and living her life to the fullest.

Surviving family includes: two daughters- Cindy Hawkins and husband Randy, Bridgeport, IL; Lisa Osborn and husband Eric, Austin, TX; two brothers- Dale Brown and wife Darla, BeeBee, AR; Philip Brown and wife Synda, Flora, IL; two grandchildren- Austin Hawkins, Union, MO; Shelby Potts and husband Justin, two great granddaughters- Lexi and Leah Potts, Bridgeport, IL.
