Jeffrey Keene Masterman

Jeffrey Keene Masterman, a doting husband, proud father, caring grandfather, and a friend to many, passed away on April 3, 2024. Masterman was born on March 21, 1947 in Norman, Oklahoma to Louis and Audrey (Fisher) Masterman.

After graduating from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri in 1966 and a year of college at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO, Masterman joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a firefighter and a search/rescue helicopter crewman (HH-53) in the 67th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron at RAF Bentwaters, U.K. On July 17, 1967, he married the love of his life, Peggy Howard, in Independence, MO and she accompanied him during his four year tour in the USAF. It was during this tour that his daughter, Cynda Masterman was born.

Masterman relocated to Independence, MO in 1973 and began work in the fire department at the Phillips Petroleum refinery in Kansas City, MO. He became a father for the second time in 1976 with the birth of Sarah Masterman. After taking a job with UNOCAL and moving to Grand Junction, CO in 1983, Masterman rekindled his love of the outdoors with his family through fishing, camping, hunting, and skiing. Perhaps the greatest change in his life came in March 1992 when he relocated with his wife to Saudi Arabia with the oil company, Aramco, as a safety and security engineer.

The next ten years afforded Jeff and Peggy the opportunity to visit over 25 countries around the world, learn about the Arab culture, and continue their passion for sailing. Masterman retired in 2001 to Table Rock Lake, where he continued his love of fishing and refined his gourmet cooking skills. Masterman enjoyed entertaining friends and family at their home in Kingsgate Estates where he spent his days boating, fishing, and traveling. Masterman was preceded in death by his parents Louis Masterman and Audrey (Fisher) Masterman; and his aunt Brenda (Fisher) Benghiat of New Malden, U.K. He is survived by his lovely wife, Peggy (Howard), of Lampe, MO; daughters Cynda Masterman of Naples, Italy and Sarah Masterman of Williston, ND; and grandchildren Audrey Ingalls of Chicago, IL, Logan Davis of Chicago, IL, and Bridger Liudahl of Williston, ND. Visitation will be held on April 13, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Greenlawn funeral home in Branson, MO. A service and military honors ceremony will be held immediately following.
