David Walter Brown
David Walter Brown, 86, of Centennial, Colorado (recently moving from Independence, Missouri) passed away at Sunrise at Orchard Care Facility on July 13, 2023 following a ten-year battle with Parkinson's Disease, plus a five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Dave was born July 3, 1937, to Robert Lora Brown and Martha Ann Brown in Phelps County, Missouri.
Dave graduated from High School in Rolla, Missouri and attended the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla for his initial years in College. He later graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. On August 17, 1957, Dave married Freda Carol Whitehead of DeWitt, Illinois. They were later blessed with a family and the arrival of two daughters. Dave and Freda recently celebrated 65 years of marriage together.
Dave was a successful engineer, project manager and manager of people and organizations over a span of 50 years. His career took him to several states and other countries over the years, including a 3-year tour with ARAMCO in Saudia Arabia. Dave spent the past 20 plus years living and working in the Greater Kansas City Metro Area where he was a partner in the Berger, Devine, Yeager (BDY), Architectural Engineering firm in Kansas City and later owner of the Blue Springs, Missouri office of BDY.
Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who always placed others before himself. In retirement Dave loved watching the Chiefs and the Royals games on television. Dave loved the game of golf and spent a lot of time on the golf course.
Dave is survived by his wife of 65 years, Freda Carol Brown of Centennial, Colorado; his daughter Catherine Loraine Green and husband Jersey of Centennial, Colorado; his daughter Deborah Carol LeVere and husband Tom and Granddaughter's Alicia Ann LeVere and Abigail Melissa LeVere of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; Granddaughter Megan Olivia Turnquist and husband Chris and Great Grandchildren Henry, Gavin and Jenna Turnquist of Aurora, Colorado; Grandson Miles David Kasch and wife Hannah and Great Grandchildren Finnley and Jack of Centennial, Colorado; Grandson Max Robert Kasch of Centennial, Colorado; Sister Carolyn Faye Gaddy, Nephew William Brian Gaddy and wife Sarah, and Great Nephew William Christopher Gaddy of Liberty, Missouri; Sister Jewel Fern Logan and Bill of Plano, Texas; Granddaughters Reagan Renee and husband Dominick Steel and McKenzie Lynn Green.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Robert lora Brown and Martha Ann Brown, brother Paul Eugene Brown and brothers-in-law, William Jerry Gaddy and Curt Woodrow Logan.
