Joseph R. Brand, 67, of Shiloh, Illinois, born May 2, 1937, in Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 5, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Brand was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force, pilot for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia and taught ground school for Flight Safety International. He was a member of Winstanley Baptist Church and Air Force Association.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Brand. Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann, nee Fuller, Brand; two daughters, Kori (David) Huhman of Belleville, Illinois, and Kelly (Mike) Skewes of Oakdale, Illinois; his mother, Margaret, nee Olin, Brand, of Belleville, Illinois; two stepchildren, Darren (Kathy) Beyer of Swansea, Illinois, and Lori Thrutchley of Shiloh, Illinois; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Maxine Fuller of Edwardsville, Illinois; and grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Ryan, Zachary, Jenifer, Megan and Billy. Memorials are preferred to Family Hospice of the Belleville Area or Winstanley Baptist Church Building Fund.
Funeral: Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Winstanley Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois, with the Reverend Dr. Steve Phillips officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Edwardsville, Illinios.
