Philip Joseph Halpin Jr.

On February 3, 2022 Heaven admitted a wonderful new resident, Philip Joseph Halpin Jr. At 91 years of age Phil passed gently on to be with our Lord. No doubt “Fairway Phil” is having a loving reunion with his beloved wife, Joan Halpin and his beloved daughter Siobhan Halpin. Family and friends who went on before him are surely part of a lovely welcome. And if there is golf in Heaven, tee times are being arranged.

Phil lived a very full life that began back on October 3rd, 1930. Phil grew up in Manhattan during the depression as the child of Irish immigrants. He would tell you he had a good life growing up in Manhattan with his sister Mary and his parents Bridget and Philip Halpin Sr. He was an altar boy, played baseball and went to all the local dances and had several different jobs as a young man. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes Catholic High School and joined the Marines. At this point, he already had his eye on Joan Manion and they would get married on July 10, 1954. After the Marines, he worked at the Arabian American Oil Company as a file clerk in their New York office while he went to night school at New York University to get his B.S. in Accounting. After his degree, he and his bride Joan started the next adventurous chapter of their lives moving to Saudi Arabia to work for ARAMCO. Phil and Joan would spend 32 years in Saudi Arabia where he would have a very successful career filled with great friendships.

Phil will be remembered for his integrity, his beautiful smile, blue eyes, flat top Marine haircut, great sense of humor, his love of family and his strong faith. Phil is survived by his children: Terence Halpin, Deidre Halpin Ambrose and her husband Joe Ambrose, Daniel Halpin and his wife Jacquelyn Halpin and Bridget Halpin-Glaze and her husband Damian Glaze and 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. There will be a memorial mass for Phil on Friday, February 18th at 10am at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, The Woodlands, TX. Phil will be laid to rest at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, The Woodlands, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Disabled American Veterans @ www.dav.org.
