Walter James Whelan
Death claimed Walter James Whelan at 12:15 a.m. January 19, 1947, following a short illness due to pneumonia. Walt recently was assigned to Transportation Division at Dhahran.
Walter was born on January 5, 1898 in Omaha, Nebraska; his last home was in Oakland, California. No nearest of kin are listed.
In 1942-1943 Walt was in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged as a private. He was in the automotive repair business for a number of years in the States.
Mass was said by Father Gabriel at 4 p.m. January 19, in the Auditorium of the Dhahran Clubhouse. Burial in the Dhahran Cemetery followed the Mass.
The pallbearers were: Ray Burba, Ralph Doughty, Sam Geen, Tom Hercus, Merril Rundell, Paul Taylor.
