Willirie Marion Beeson
Willirie "Bill" Marion Beeson, 89, of Hemphill, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his residence.
Bill was born on December 17, 1933 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Leland Beeson and Lela Bessonette Beeson. He was a member of the US Army and worked as a mechanical engineer for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia for eight years. Among his work, Bill helped formulate space suits for the Gemini program and future programs for NASA. After retirement, he returned to train future engineers.
He was described as the greatest sportsman, always hitting his target and catching the largest fish. Bill loved tending to his garden and growing fresh vegetables that he would donate to the Senior Citizen Center. He also enjoyed playing poker.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Beeson of Hemphill, Texas; sons, Richard Beeson of Canton, Texas, Ronald Beeson and wife, Melissa of Clearlake, Texas, Robert Beeson and wife, Ellen of Clearlake, Texas and Timothy Taylor of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter, Rhonda Taylor of Houston, Texas; brother, Royce Beeson, and wife, Susan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lela Beeson.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
