On January 21st, 2023, we arranged a dinner party at our house for celebrations. One was for cousin Talha who was recently married to Namrah. It was also my mother Erum Imran’s birthday the same day and my mami, Samia Siddiqui’s birthday the following day, so we celebrated with our family.

Delicious food was prepared for the Dawat (party) including Biryani, Qorma, Kebabs and Dahi Baray. For dessert, we had the iconic Pakistani winter favorite: Gajar ka Halwa!

The evening was a warm one, with all the relatives engaged in conversation and sharing laughs together.
Later in the evening, Erum was greeted by a surprise delivery by her cousins, Saira Aftab, Anum Aftab and Jenny Ajaz, who live in the USA. They had sent her a beautiful bouquet of balloons and an even more gorgeous Lotus Cake. The gifts were unexpected, as her cousins had secretly planned them, so everyone was shocked and excited.

Erum and Samia cut the cake together as it was Samia’s birthday the next day. The cake was incredibly delicious and everyone enjoyed it a lot! We wish them both a very happy birthday and a hearty congratulations to the new couple!
