Bill Haynes, former chairman and CEO of Standard Oil Company of California (now Chevron), a director of Bechtel Group, Inc., and chairman of Bechtel's board of counselors, passed away today at the age of 83 after a year-long struggle with cancer. He also was a director of many prominent organizations, including the Saudi Arabian Oil Company.

Doris Elizabeth Sides Arend died peacefully at home in the early morning hours on June 20, 2009. Doris graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina at Charleston and received her diploma as a registered nurse. As a nurse, she traveled to Saudi Arabia in 1950 to work for the ARAMCO Oil Company, where she met her future husband, Marion “Richard” Arend.

Stephen Polotnik, age 72, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on June 15, 2009 in Gulfport. Stephen was a chemical engineer and worked overseas with various oil companies. He worked in Saudi for Aramco in all three districts, including The Hague for about 20 years, starting in 1968.
