Jack Read, 86, of Fort Worth, passed away on March 30, 2023. He was born on December 16, 1936, to Earl and Audra Read of Boyd, Texas, Wise County.

Jack, the most loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather is survived by his wife, Virginia, daughter, Hollie, and sons, Chris, James Perry and John; as well as his best dog, Sadie.

Upon graduation from Boyd High School, Jack joined the National Guard and attended Dallas Baptist College in Decatur. He met the love of his life of over 64 years on a double date and fell in love with her amazing cooking and beautiful smile. Their marriage took them on numerous travels and adventures all over the world. Jack began working at an early age on his parents farm raising watermelons, peanuts, and more. Later, his employement took him to Vietnam as a contract employee for Bell Helicopter, Menasco, Arco, and 20 years for Aramco in Saudi Arabia.

Jack's leisure time was exhibited through his love of the outdoors and competitive nature. He had a passion for golf where he played in tournaments from Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Hawaii, Myrtle Beach to the Dupont Amateur Circuit in Arizona just to name a few. He loved spending time with family and friends and sharing his love of hunting, fishing, and surrounding himself with nature.

Jack believed that God had a purpose for his life and took the opportunity to share the promise of eternal life with those who would listen. While in Saudi Arabia, colleagues who were of the muslim faith would ask him about his christian beliefs and he joyfully shared and witnessed to them. Jack's love for God and the impact he made on others as well as family will be forever remembered.

A memorial service will take place at 12 p.m. on April 27th at Joe T. Garcias, La Puertita, 2201 N. Commerce St., Fort Worth, TX 76164. Donations can be made to Alzheimers Association to the tribute page of Jack Hollie Read. https://www.alz.org
