Steven H. Otto
The company has received word of the death of Steven H. Otto on Feb. 12 in California. The Otto family had departed Ras Tanura Dec. 20 so that Mr. Otto could undergo treatment at UCLA Medical Center.
Mr. Otto began his career in the oil industry with Getty Oil in Bakersfield, Calif., after receiving his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Long Beach State University. He joined Aramco in February 1975 and worked with the Special Testing Unit of Petroleum Engineering. In October 1977 he transferred to Mobil to work with the Producing Department in Denver, and work assignments with Mobil in support of Aramco projects brought him back to Saudi Arabia in the spring of 1978.
The Otto family returned to Ras Tanura last August when Mr. Otto was officially loaned to Aramco as a member of the Mobil Bern Reservoir Management Team.
Survivors include Mr. Otto's widow, Lori, and two sons, Scott, 7, and Robert, 5. Mrs. Otto's address is 7561 Volga Drive, Apt., 1, Huntington Beach, Calif., 92647. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Otto's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 777 Third Ave., New York, N. Y., 10017.
