Thomas C. Petren
Thomas C. Petren, 82, longtime resident of Lanoka Harbor, passed away on October 10, 2023 at his home. Tom was born in Newark, NJ and had lived in Lanoka Harbor since 1971. He graduated from Kean University with a B.S. in Mathematics and received his Master's Degree in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked for 20 years oversees in Saudi Arabia as a Computer Programmer for Saudi Aramco, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the Forked River Old Guard, a volunteer AARP tax preparer and enjoyed boating, fishing and wine making.
Mr. Petren is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ellen Petren, two sons Conor, Tarek and his wife Corrine, grandchildren Colin and Avery along with two brothers, Raymond and Ross.
Arrangements and private cremation are under the direction of Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731.
